Founded in 1536 by Spanish Pedro de Mendoza under the name of Nuestra Señora del Buen Ayre and after being abandoned, was newly established in 1580 by Juan de Garay, this time under the name City of the Holy Trinity and Port of Saint Mary del Buen Ayre.
