Day 1
Arrival in Buenos Aires: Half day city tour with stop at Café Tortoni & Subway Ride / Dinner & Tango Show (-)

Upon arrival, our collaborators offer a welcoming reception and will transfer you to the hotel. A documentation kit, detailed program explanation plus luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered. In In the afternoon a tour that highlights the main attractions of the city of Buenos Aires, the Paris of South America: The main square of Plaza de Mayo, facing the Casa Rosada (Presidential headquarters), the Cabildo and the Cathedral repeats the typical settlement of all Spanish colonial cities  in Latin America. From there and through the charming streets of San Telmo quarter we are headed to La Boca, famous for its colorful hoses and the football stadium. Thereafter a drive to the elegant Barrio Norte neighborhood and finally Palermo with its parks and mansions inspired in the Bois de Boulogne. While in Plaza de Mayo a stop at the Café Tortoni is a must. This historic café hosted since 1858 the most important intellectuals and artists in the city. Additionally a short ride on the oldest line of the Metro is included in this tour.
In the evening dinner and tango show.

Day 2
Salta: Half day city tour (B)

At schedule time transfer to the airport to take your flight to Salta. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will visit the city, 3-hour visit. Salta is one of the oldest cities founded in the country by the Spaniards. The main point of interest will be the Cabildo (Town Hall), the Archbishop’s Palace and Cathedral all around the main square (9 de Julio), San Francisco’s church and San Bernardo´s church and convent. A visit to the crafts market, actually an old mansion transformed into a museum and gift exhibition centre, offers an excellent chance to observe authentic samples of the native artisan’s works and the opportunity to buy them at very reasonable prices.

Day 3
Cafayate: Quilme ruins extension visit (B)

At schedule time, transfer from Salta to Cafayate by Las Conchas George, some impressive geological formations produced by erosion on the colorful sedimentation of sandstone over the past 60 million years. On Cafayate Wine cellar visits and extension to Quilmes Ruins where legend says that the Quilmes Indians, a local civilization, resisted the Spanish Invasion for many years. The Quilmes Indians held out for such a long time that while surrounded they finally had to give up when their food and water ran out.

Day 4
Cachi: Cuesta del Obispo (B)

Departure from Cafayate to Cachi, on the way will go through & stop in Molinos, which is a small town with one of the prettiest chapels in the valley. Opposite is the large old house of Isasmendi, which has been turned into the HOSTAL MOLINOS, a simple and austere but very comfortable hotel; luxury is not going to be found here, but a very friendly and cozy atmosphere. Cachi is a beautiful town in the chalchaquí valleys of Salta on the east slope of Nevado Hill. Nature, as well as colonial aristocracy from the XVIII Century, can be admired in this environment. In this legendary town, you can admire white buildings, adobe houses, paved streets and impressive architectural and cultural constructions that combine into an incredible scene. Cachi means "salt" in quechua due to the fact that natives mistook the top of “El Nevado" with a salt mine. Our way continues crossing the unforgettable landscape of giant cardon cacti and the snow-capped Andes. Afterwards the Recta del Tin Tin & Cuesta del Obispo, climbing to more than 3000 m. Closing the trip, the tobacco plantations to the right and to the left hand, before arriving in Salta again.

Day 5
Salinas Grandes / Purmamarca (B)

Departure on our way to Purmamarca by ruta 9 visiting  San Antonio de los Cobres & Salinas Grandes.
One of the most interesting aspects of this remote region is the culture of its people, who, from the pre-hispanic times, could adapt to the hard conditions. Photo-Safaris. Photography fans will be delighted by the huge deserts of salt, the volcanoes and snow-capped mountains, the clear skies, the blinding sun and the majesty of llamas and vicuñas. From Salta, we take the Quebrada del Toro upto Santa Rosa de Tastil. After the visit to this incredible archeological site, we keep on to San Antonio de los Cobres. This was the last stop of the “Train to the Clouds” (at the moment out of service) before La Polvorilla Viaduct. After a stop we will continue to the “Salinas” one of the biggest concentrations of Salt in the country and continue to Purmamarca, a typical village from where will be able to admire a fabulous and colorful landscape: Cerro de los Siete Colores (Seven Colours Hill) surrounded by green trees and the mud brick-houses. Pucará de Tilcara – in aborigine language means fortress. It really used to be an omaguaca village (aborigines who inhabited this place during the 10th Century).

Day 6
Full day Purmamarca / Tilcara and its Pucara / Humahuaca /Salta / Buenos Aires (B)

From Purmamarca, we head to the most picturesque part of the Valley, up to Tilcara (a small town that attracts for its famous Pucará, not precisely a fortress but an Omoguacan village probably built in the 10th century, on top of a mountain). From Tilcara, we continue to Humahuaca. This is a colonial city: its worth walking narrow paved streets with streetlamps and adobe houses made Humahuaca one of the most important trade centers of Alto Peru until the end of the XIX Century. Worldwide known due to the imposing Quebrada de Humahuaca, professed as Humanity Heritage by UNESCO, shows a heavenly landscape where Río Grande flows and where great archaeological beds are found in colorful hills. In this region, tourists get in touch with Hispano-America roots in a landscape made of valleys and narrow paths where Indigenous and Spanish cultures merged. At schedule time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, reception and transfer to your hotel.

International Departure (B)

At the scheduled time, we will transfer you to the airport to take your international departure flight.
