City Tour With Old Prision Museum

Old Prison Museum: The first inducement for population growth that Ushuaia experimented after its foundation, was due to the installation of a penal colony that later was transformed in penitentiary and backsliding jail. The impression of this old building generates is related to the sad prestige that the place had. In spite of this, it cannot be denied that the first essential supplies that Ushuaia needed had come from the city jail. Life in the town was closely related to what happened inside the prison. Like the small train that passed carrying the prisoners to the forest, where they would cut the wood that later heated the city homes.
