DAY 1. TRANSFER IN / CITY TOUR
Transfer to your hotel and visit the central 25 de Mayo Square to immerse yourself in the colonial past of this city declared “Cultural Patrimony of Mankind” by UNESCO. You'll see its Cathedral and museum, the House of the Liberty where the Independence of Bolivia was proclaimed in 1809. Walk through colonial streets of downtown, visiting San Miguel and San Francisco churches, Mariscal theatre, the Justice palace of the Supreme Court and Bolivar park. Visit of ASUR the Indian Textile museum and Recoleta church and its museum.
DAY 2. CASTLE OF LA GLORIETA AND TRANSFER OUT
In the morning visit the cemetery with colonial architecture, showing the rich family mausoleums, then a small trip to the castle of La Glorieta, of the Argandona family, another example of wealthy times in colonial time. Return to Sucre and transfer out. (B) |

DINOSAUR TRACKS OF THE CRETACEOUS PERIOD NEAR SUCRE 3 DAYS / 2 NIGHTS |

DAY 1. TRANSFER IN / BRAMADERO
Transfer to the hotel, then visit the largest paleontological site of the world in Cal Orck’o, here you'll find over 5000 dinosaur tracks from the cretaceous period that date back 68 million years.
In the afternoon trip to the valley of Cajamarca at the foot of the sacred Chataquila Range and stay overnight in the Bramadero Lodge. Due to our high and open skies, you'll enjoy an impressive view and receive a scientific explanation of the southern skies and the Milky Way. (L, D)
DAY 2. POTOLO / CHAUANACA
Trip crossing the Chataquila Range, enjoying the beauty of the area until the village of Chauanaca in the Ravelo valley, where you can also see dinosaur tracks by the river banks and explore the area with lots of Indian culture. Overnight in basic lodging at a farm. (B, L, D)
DAY 3. MARAGUA / SUCRE
Trip to the small Indian village of Humaca, to start a hike to the sites of Nino Mayo, Lajas and Oro Pajla, to see different dinosaur tracks of the late cretaceous period in a vast area of the Maragua Synclinal. Enjoy the natural beauty, visiting the weaving centers that ASUR have together with the Jalq’a community of Maragua, to observe the whole weaving process done by native women at the center and in their houses. Return to Sucre. (B, L)

DAY 1. SUCRE / POTOSI - City Tour
Early departure from Sucre to Potosi, the road follows different valleys until the Pilcomayo River, where you can see the Puente Arce, an old bridge, nice example of the engineering construction. Then start going up more than 1,500 m/4,920 ft, this sloped road is called `Cuesta del Retiro´. The trip continues through the highlands until arriving to the famous mining city of Potosi.

Visit the Mint House (Casa de la Moneda), traditional colonial streets and the artisan market, also visit the San Francisco and San Lorenzo churches. San Lorenzo has one of the greatest examples of stone carvings of the baroque-Indian style. Visit of the Santa Teresa church and its museum. Overnight in hotel. (L)
DAY 2. MINE IN CERRO RICO / SUCRE
This excursion allows visitors to experience an unforgettable trip thousands of feet underground to see the living and working conditions of the Bolivian miners. (Protective clothing and helmets are provided). In the afternoon return to Sucre. (B, L) |

DAY 1. SUCRE - City Tour
Flight to Sucre. Arrival transfer.

This tour includes the visit of: Casa de la Libertad, where the Act of Independence of Bolivia was signed in 1825; museum of the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sucre built in the XVII century, where the Virgin of Guadalupe, the richest virgin in Bolivia with jewels and gold is; Bolivar Park, to see examples of the aristocratic tradition of Sucre, with small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triumph of Paris. Then Indian Textile museum of ASUR, doing promotion and recuperation of the rich textiles of the Jalq'a and Tarabuco cultures and finally the church and museum of La Recoleta, a good place to have a full view the entire city. DAY 2. UYUNI SALTFLAT / FISH ISLAND / PALACIO DE SAL HOTEL
Trip to Colchani, a village on the shores of Uyuni salt flats, where locals produce salt, adding iodine. Enter Uyuni saltflats is spectacular, over 10,000 km2 of white salt welcomes you, stay the rest of the morning in Palacio de Sal hotel, the only in the world built of salt bricks. In the afternoon trip to “Isla Pescado” with its impressive gigantic cactus and special flora. Back to spend the night at the Palacio de Sal hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 1. LA PAZ - ORURO (Bus) ORURO - UYUNI (Train only Monday and Friday)
Early departure from La Paz to Oruro (3 hours), then train to Uyuni (6 hours), crossing a big portion of the Bolivian highlands. In Uyuni visit the old train cemetery and stroll through town, a center of distribution towards Chile and Argentina in the south. Overnight at hotel Los Jardines. (L, D)
DAY 2. UYUNI / ISLA PESCADO / HOTEL PALACIO DE SAL
Visit Colchani, a village in the shores of Uyuni saltflats, where locals produce salt, adding iodine and packing in plastic bags. Entering the saltflats is amazing, over 10,000 km2 of white salt, seeing first `Ojos de Agua´, water bubbles coming from below the white surface. Trip to Palacio de Sal hotel, at 9 km/5,6 miles from the shore, built with salt bricks. Rest for a while and have lunch before departing to `Isla Pescado´, where you can see the giant cactus and the small habitat. After 1 hour hike, return to Palacio de Sal hotel. (B, L, D)
DAY 3. UYUNI SALT FLATS / POTOSI - City tour
The trip crosses many Andean ranges with beautiful sceneries, wind erosion has created nice spots with outstanding stone formations. You'll pass the famous Pulacayo tin mine, before one of the main mining centers with a strong mining Union of workers. Then through the villages of Chaquilla and Tika Tika, to finally reach the famous silver city of Potosi, the largest city of the world in colonial times.

P. M. Bus to Sucre (3 hours), the first part is through the highlands, then goes down more then 1,500 m/5,000 ft to the valleys of Chuquisaca. Passing the Pilcomayo River at Puente Arce, to see an old pending bridge. The contrast from valley to highlands is nice, finally arriving to the city of Sucre (capital of Bolivia). (B)
DAY 5. HALF DAY CITY TOUR
You’ll enjoy the great colonial legacy of the city with amazing churches and museums, a well kept downtown area in colonial architecture. Visit the Indian Textile museum of ASUR, to recuperate and promote the textiles of the Jalq’a and Tarabuco cultures.

DAY 3. SAN JUAN / LAGUNA COLORADA
An incredible day in terms of natural beauty, crossing: Cañapa, Hedionda, Chiarkota, Honda and Ramadita lagoons, parts of the desert highlands of Siloli until Laguna Colorada (red lagoon - 4,300 m/14,107 ft). Basic lodging. (B, L, D)
DAY 4. LAGUNA VERDE
Early departure to visit `Sol de Mañana´ geysers, then pass alongside Challviri lagoon, having a natural hot spring, great for a bath. The journey continues to “Laguna Verde” (4,300 m/14,107 ft), a beautiful green lagoon at the foothills of the Licancabur mountain in the border with Chile. Return to Laguna Colorada. (B, L, D)
DAY 5. LAGUNA COLORADA / UYUNI
A nice journey going through the Western Andes Range and the highlands, passing areas with great stone formations created by the wind erosion, called “Valle de los Sapos” (Valley of the toads). You’ll cross the village of Alota, the area is rich in quinua production, until reaching the town of Uyuni. Overnight at the hotel Los Jardines. (B, L, D)
