Colchagua is one  most important agricultural zones of Chile with an impressive history of great achievements triggered by hard work and love for the soil. It has enormous farms or ´haciendas´, with houses that date back over 200 years old. Its people are also special. The 'Huaso', or Chilean cowboy still rides through his fields with the pride of generations of farmers that lived on these fertile lands.  Its delicious wines and the aroma and flavors of traditional Chile are present in each corner of Colchagua. You will have time to appreciate the architecture of the area, its traditions, customs and cuisine; and to visit the Colchagua Museum that contains more than 5.000 objects, rich in the history of our country.


Detailed Itinerary:


Day 1
Santiago / Santa Cruz


Colchagua Valley Wine route
In the morning we will leave from the hotel, and go south towards the city of San Fernando, starting with the Colchagua Wine Valley Route. From San Fernando, we go towards the city of Santa Cruz to then visit the first winery of our tour: Montes Vineyard, "La Finca de Apalta" is an essential part of the renowned Apalta Valley. After a walk along this beautiful vineyard we will enjoy a panoramic view from the viewing point located in the hillside. The visit ends with a wine tasting. After this we will continue on to Viu Manent Winery. Once we are in the Winery, we will enter the plant after an enjoyable ride through the vineyards in an old carriage pulled by two Percheron horses. After the visit to Viu Manent, we will drive to Santa Cruz to enjoy a delicious lunch, typical of the area, in the restaurant of the Santa Cruz hotel.

Day 2
Santa Cruz / Santiago


In the morning we have time to visit the Colchagua Museum, which was planned with the concept of going through the past of the planet and the Universal man's History, from our American reality. Thanks to the variety of pieces that its owner, has collected, the visitor can get an illustration about themes on Paleonthology, Archaeology and pre Columbian Art of Chile and America, History of the Conquest, Colony and Independece of Chile and America till the Republican Period. Besides it inlcudes thematic pavilions about Modernity, History and Development of Arms, Huaso Riding Gears, Coaches and Carriages, Agricultural Machinery and The Railway Pavilion. All this outlines it as the biggest and most varied and diverse museum in Latin America.
In the afternoon transfer from Santa Cruz to Santiago.
