DAY 1 / PUERTO VARAS
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Half day city tour of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas. The tour begins in Puerto Varas, the charming 19th - century port town settled by German colonists on the edge of big, beatiful Llanquihue Lake-in constant view of the equally big and beatiful Osorno volcano. Arrive at Puerto Montt, the capital of the region, and enjoy a complete narrated tour of the city. Highlights include a visit to the picturesque Angelmó cove, whish has served as an inspiration for artists and intellectuals over the years. Return. Overnight.
DAY 2 / PUERTO VARAS
Full-day excursion to the town of Frutillar, a charming summer resort bedecked with old German-style homes and spectacular begonia gardens. The tour includes a visit the Museum of German Colonization, which exhibits important objects and artifacts depicting the lifestyle of these foreign settlers. In the afternoon, proceed to Puerto Octay, another port on the lake founded in 1854. The turn-of-the-century architecture in particular here is worth noting. Return. Overnight. (B, L)
DAY 3 / PUERTO VARAS - BARILOCHE (Argentina)
Morning transfer to begin the Andean Lake Crossing from Puerto Varas to the Argentinean city of Bariloche. (B, L)

DAY 1 / PUERTO VARAS
Reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Half -day city tour of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas, including their main attractions and spots. Overnight.
DAY 2 / PUERTO VARAS
Full-day excursion to Alerce Andino National Park. The tour takes the Austral Highway out of Puerto Montt to Alerce Andino National Park. The park, a humid rainforest, is the home to a variety of native trees. The larch forest, noted for its 3,000 year-old trees and some other interesting botanic species. Return in the afternoon. Return to Puerto Varas. Overnight. (B, L)
DAY 3 / PUERTO VARAS
Full-day excursion to Ancud in Chiloe Island. Board a ferry to the Island of Chiloé. During the cruise, observe a variety of sea birds. Once on the island, continue to Caulín Bay. Here. be on the lookout for a great diversity of migrant fowl such as black-necked swans, flamingoes dabbling ducks and other coastal birds. The tour continues to the city of Ancud, including a visit to the traditional Mercado Municipal, where one can choose from a stunning collection of produce, fish seafoot, and Chilote arts and crafts. Return to Puerto Varas. Overnight (B, L).
DAY 4 / PUERTO VARAS
Full-day excursion to Vincente Pérez Rosales National Park. The excursion follows the shore of Llanquihue Lake. The route turns inland to the famoust Petrohué Falls, a succession of esmerald green cascades in view of the Andes and Osorno volcano. In the afternoon the tour continues to the Green Lagoon with beatiful sights of the Osorno volcano. Return to Puerto Varas. Overnight (B, L).
DAY 5 / PUERTO VARAS
Morning tour to the charming town of Frutillar. Here among other highlights, a visit to the Museum of German Colonization is included. In the afternoon, transfer to airport for departure flight. (B, L) |
