Destinations: Valparaiso & Viña del Mar
Length: 2 Days / 1 Night
Valparaíso, a port city one and a half hour’s drive from Santiago. It´s definitely one of Latin America’s hidden jewels. A city rich in history that stimulates the eye with its unique colorful urban lay-out. The inhabitants of Valparaíso built their city spontaneously which is obvious when you consider the local house design around this area. Private homes and restaurants seem to climb up hill slopes in such a way that colorful building clusters appear on the horizon challenging both gravity and vertigo. Needless to say, Valparaíso is a port, and as such, offers an interesting nightlife, where bohemians tour streets and cafeterias, and you cannot go far without discovering a passionate poet, cinema, boleros or a chance to tango.
