The ecological reserve, serves as a bridge that connects the area, as an ecological corridor between the Cayambe-Coca Ecological Reserve and National Park Sumaco Napo-Galeras, thus forming, between the three, one of the 10 hot spots in Biodiversity in the world.

Enter the Antisana ecological reserve, with its lakes turned into huge mirrors and misty high forest-covered gorges.  This is a great chance to see a unique landscape that is gradually turning into jungle.

In this reserve, that extends for 120,000 hectares, is the Antisana volcano (5,758 meters) which has three peaks and is very difficult to climb. The lakes that surround it reflect the peaks. You will find indescribable beauty, ideal to be photographed.
Types of birds found in the reserve are the Andean Gull, the Shining Sunbeam Hummingbird, the Red-rumped Bush-Tyrant, the Black-capped Tyrannulet, the Common bar-winged Cinclodes, as well as many others.

Day 6 - 9
Quito –   Amazonic Region ( 4 days &  3 nights Program)  (B,L,D)

Your adventure in the Amazon begins with a 25-minute flight over the mountains of the Andes from Quito, Ecuador´s capital, to the town of Puerto Francisco de Orellana. Here a motorized covered canoe awaits to navigate 80 kilometers downstream on the Napo river, a tributary of the Amazon, for about 2 hours. Upon arrival at the private reserve of 2000 acres, you will take your first walk along a raised platform through a dense forest of palms, where very often we find different species of monkeys. The trail leads to Pilchicocha Lake where paddle canoes will be waiting to cross over to the hotel.

Activities are spread over a wide area, allowing visitors to explore different fascinating habitats. Several trails lead through forest land, where ceibo trees grow to 50 feet and their huge aerial roots provide them with support. Others follow strategically raised boardwalks over the flooded forest, where walking on the ground would be nearly impossible during most of the year due to water. One trail many choose to follow even leads across fallen trees and through a swamp.

For the adventurous souls, the day does not necessarily end with dinner. Trekking and canoeing at night, with the aid of flashlights, often reveal creatures difficult to see during the day. You will see that the caiman and giant insects dominate the jungle after sunset ... Will you dare see for yourself?
