Detailed Itinerary:


Day 1 
Arrival  Guayaquil  (D)

Upon arrival at the international Joaquin de Olmedo Airport in Guayaquil, greeting by the Condor Travel staff, who will be ready to assist and provide transfer to the hotel.

At night you will enjoy a scenic tour of Guayaquil; this cosmopolitan city retains traditional neighborhoods as well as its imposing Peñas and modern boardwalk on the banks of the Guayas River. It has a wide range of hotels and restaurants at all levels and price, various museums and plenty of nightlife. Visit the Centennial Park with the Column of the Heroes of Independence, Seminary Park and the Cathedral, the boardwalk with its Moorish Tower and the Monuments to Bolivar and San Martin in the Rotunda.

Day 2 
Guayaquil – Manabí  (B,L)

Transfer from the city of Guayaquil along the Spondylus route towards  the Retiro ranch. Along the way, enjoy the warm beaches of the coast of Ecuador and its breathtaking scenery.

Day 3 
Full Day  at La Isla de la Plata  (B,L)

Departing from Puerto Lopez on the coast of the province of Manabi we visit this island that is part of the Machalilla National Park. From some of its trails we can see some of the distinct wildlife species that inhabit the Galapagos Islands.

On the island, you can do snorkeling and whale watching at certain times of the year

In the afternoon, visit Montecristi located a few minutes from the city of Manta. Montecristi is famous for making straw hats and or better known as the Panama hat. Its characteristic dry tropical forest makes it a magnificent site that can be appreciated along the route.

Day  4 
Manta – Quito  (B,D)

At the schedule time, transfer from your hotel to the airport to board your flight to Quito.

Upon arrival, assistance and transfer to your hotel.

In the evening: A wonderful scenic tour through the old colonial churches, historic houses, squares and convents bathed with excellent lighting, highlighting the most beautiful architectural elements of the city. A magical kingdom of domes and stories that venerate the city.

A private visit to the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo are part of this spectacular tour. The best example of architecture and religious art in a single destination.

In about two hours, passengers can enjoy the wealth that the convent of the Rosary Church keeps like covered gilded carvings on red background, decorated columns with an original mix of plant and anthropomorphic elements, pediments and colossal doors, roofs coated with frescoes and gold leaf that take us back to the colonial era to dazzle us with its delicate and unusual beauty.

Dinner at the Octava de Corpus restaurant, the Restaurant is of neo-classical cuisine and is located in the historic city center, decorated in baroque style, drenched in color and with a spectacular gourmet kitchen, this eccentric restaurant is one of the most recommended places to visit in Colonial Quito.

The owner, Jaime Burgos will be waiting to share with you the fascinating treasures that this historic landmark hides.

Day 5  
Quito – Northern Andes  (B,L)

North of Quito, at 2530 feet above sea level, is the eternally fertile, Imbabura Province, home to artists surrounded by lakes, stories and pre-Hispanic cultures.

Visit to Peguche, a small town, messy and picturesque, famous for its ability to produce colorful handmade Andean textiles and provide products to Indian markets nearby.

Apart from its textiles, the Peguche community is also known for its creation of wind instruments, along with their customs and ancestral traditions we also visit the House of Instruments where instruments like the Sikus, charangos, and kenas decorate the walls and bring back memories of Andean music.

In this area we also find strong and skilful hands that represent the artistic community of San Antonio.

Art Workshops and sculpture in wood, stone and ceramics that represent the Quito school of art convey the secrets of carving and the working spirit of the indigenous peoples who have kept this rich cultural tradition for several generations.

Day 5  
Northern Andes – Central Andes  (B,L)

Morning departure from Otavalo towards the Cotopaxi province.

The Ecuadorian Andes, contain within its ranges countless memories, secrets and cultural histories of the Andean community.

The Quinche or Monte del Sol, is a picturesque Andean town known since pre-Inca times as a sacred land, different archaeological studies have agreed that pre-Columbian architecture found in the area represented the sacred temples of sun worship.

In this century, Quinche is still recognized as a sacred site, an annual pilgrimage in honor of the virgin built in the colonial era by Don Diego de Robles one of the leading representatives of the Quito School of Art.

To complement this visit we reach the Garden of Pakakuna which means, the hidden location. This beautiful botanical garden has an area of 75 acres and has about 500 varieties of plants consisting of native plants and from other parts of the world. Different examples of aquatic plants, orchids, bromeliads, trees, fuchsias and datura are part of the menu offered by this magical garden.

After lunch we continue on our way to the province of Cotopaxi.

Day 6  
Central Andes – Patate  (B,L)

During this full day tour we will guide you through the route of color and traditions that people dress in the Central Andes.

An unforgettable journey through the world of pottery and indigenous religion. Our first visit will be to La Victoria that by its activity and production is the pottery capital of the province of Cotopaxi. La Victoria is a small picturesque Andean town, on each side of its roads you will find various craft centers. The creativity of its people is unique, from masks, boxes imprinted with traditional Andean landscape.

At 5 km from La Victoria, we find Pujilí; Quechua word that means "Inn of Toys" and so, this small Indian village is decorated in colonial style with narrow streets, houses with internal courtyards, colonial churches, cobbled streets and friendly people that display an incredible range of vibrant colors and nice surprises.

Pujili, like Victoria is famous for its pottery tradition, rich folklore, and its popular hand painted art pieces by skillful artists.

Additionally, Pujilí recreates through its "Dancers," the central character of the Feast of Corpus Christi which combines ancient beliefs and popular religion. This medieval Christian holiday coincides with the Mayan calendar that celebrates the abundance of crops.
The main church located in the central park in Ecuador is the only example of a missionary church and rescues the majesty of romantic architecture.

This is definitely a day of discovery and magic, a meeting with indigenous artists and traditions.

Day 7 - 8 
Central Andes – Cuenca  (B,L)

This wonderful tour takes us through picturesque Andean villages, colorful Indian markets and ethnic cultures with their rich and varied display of garments, handicrafts, festivals, music and cuisine.  They are blended here along with amazing landscapes, rivers, lagoons and steep rocky hills.

The trail is a good opportunity for those who like photography, color displays, and overall beauty.

Leaving the city of Riobamba, we head towards the town of Alausí located to 2357 meters above sea level.

The architecture in Alausí, is the first thing that catches our attention, houses, churches, parks and streets with more than 100 years combine with the old train station and gives this town a unique touch of colonial charm.

To accompany this wonderful route, visitors can enjoy the famous "Devil´s Nose," where the train descends a steep cliff of 300 meters based on an ingenious system of zigzag.

After this exciting experience we will have lunch to continue on our way to the city of Cuenca.

Day 9  
Cuenca   (B,L)

Cuenca is considered one of, if not the most prominent, craft center of Ecuador. The variety and quality of fine crafts that are produced in the city and its surrounding villages is remarkable and makes this region an emporium of work and skill that pleasantly surprise anyone visiting the city for the exceptional creative ability and manual labor of its inhabitants.

The first stage of our journey rescues the lovely neo-classical architecture of the colonial city. Balconies decorated in rococo style, giant wooden doors carved in detail, beautiful stained glass windows, interior courtyards, frescoes and murals show the great cultural legacy by which the city was awarded the Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

We visit one or more of the workshops that produced the landmark "Panama Hat" patiently and artistically woven from the fiber of a piece of "scarf" (a variety of palm), after a process of preparing the same. One can admire a demonstration of the process leading to the development of these wonderful accessories that have been recognized worldwide.

Another symbol of the region´s crafts is the Cuencan pottery. The potters of the area, inheritors of a tradition and exceptional abilities to shape the clay and turn it into hundreds of the most original, colorful and varied objects like ornaments for dinnerware, vases, jars, all sizes, shapes and designs. These have gained such value that maintaining their roots in crafts has given them the high quality of its objects and a big demand for them has been generated. Our tour will visit one or more pottery workshops where you can watch demonstrations of the production of these true works of art.

We also visit a workshop for fine jewelry. Here you can watch the artisans and the working area where with extraordinary dexterity the most beautiful works of jewelry in gold, silver, filigree and other elements that reflect the ancestral innate artistic spirit of the inhabitants of the region can be found.

Day 10 
Cuenca- Guayaquil    (B)

This wonderful tour takes us from the highlands of Ecuador to the lowlands that receive the Pacific Ocean.

The road is an excellent opportunity to photograph and learn from different climatic floors ranging from cold to tropical Andes of Ecuador´s Pacific coast.

Leaving the city of Cuenca, located 2535 meters above the sea, our first stop is the traditional Hacienda Cañas, where the cultivation of cocoa, banana and black pepper are planted in an area of 550 hectares.

In Ecuador, cocoa activity has a history of over 400 years, La Hacienda Cañas, for over 10 years has sought to maintain traditional culture techniques combined with modern technology.

During a tour of unique beauty this tour explains the history and processes of production and harvesting of different crops. In addition the estate may make different activities like hiking, horseback riding, and others.

Visitors can enjoy typical local foods from the coast, cocoa juice in a warmly decorated environment with flowers, tropical fruits and bunches of bananas, accompanied by the presentation of a folk group with musical dances.

At the end of our visit we will continue our travel towards the city of Guayaquil, located 5 meters above sea level.
