Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1
Arrival in Guayaquil (-)

Assistance at your arrival and transfer to your hotel.

Overnight in Guayaquil.

Day 2
Guayaquil - Baltra / Santa Cruz: El Bajo Dive (B,L,D)

Flight to Batra, reception and transfer to Santa Cruz Island.

For the first afternoon's dive, El Bajo is the most recommended. It is a submerged platform with lots of tropicals, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Rays, etc and/or Macarron´s Place with a cave along lava cliffs and lots of marine life, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Rays, etc. Whether you can do 1 or 2 will depend on your arrival time, how long it takes you for lunch (eat light before diving!), how long it takes for you to get fitted for your equipment, etc.  If you can depart the hotel by 1:30, you should have time for 2 dives.  Otherwise, we would recommend 1 dive at El Bajo and then snorkeling with White-Tipped Reef Sharks in the Canal or snorkeling with Sea Lions at La Loberia since snorkeling requires no surface interval.

Overnight in Aventura Lodge

Day 3
4 Hermanos & La Viuda Dive (B,L,D)

Early depart to Isabela.

4 Hermanos is where you will most likely dive with Manta, large schools of tropicals, Eels and this is where you will see Sea Horses.  It is a beautiful dive, though sometimes, the currents can be strong.

La Viuda is a site that amazed with the abundance of fish.  It truly is like being in an aquarium.  Stingrays congregate in groups under ledges.  The entrance to the site is not for the timid nor anyone who has ear problems.  It is a rapid descent lest the currents sweep you away and you miss the site.

Overnight in Isabela Lodge

Day 4
Snorkeling at Los Tuneles & Isla Tortuga Dive / Sail to Floreana (B,L,D)

Los Tuneles is a very special place. It´s snorkeling, however, with schools of fish so large it seems like you might be hitting a wall if you swim into them. You can snorkel with Turtles, Penguins, several species of tropical fish and Sea Lions in water that is literally as clear as a swimming pool.  It is a magical place with 2 active volcanoes in the background.  It is like you are at the end of the earth before man inhabited the planet.  You can take photos of each other directly in front of Penguins on rocks, much easier than chasing the remarkably fast creatures underwater!  A trip to Los Tuneles is an amazing experience!  Whether you go to Los Tuneles first or dive Isla Tortuga first will depend on the tide.

Overnight in Floreana Lodge

Day 5
Diving at Floreana Island / Sail to Santa Cruz (B,L,D)

Floreana offer superb diving.  Enderby Island is great for White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, Hammerheads, Eagle Rays, Stingrays, Sea Lions, large schools of tropicals and WALLS of Black-Striped Salemas so thick, the only way you can tell a diver is inside is the bubbles.  Champion has a large population of playful Sea Lions who love to mimic your rolls, your bubbles and their curiosity from outside a cave makes for great photo ops while you’re inside!  Corona del Diablo is considered one of the best snorkeling sites in the whole of the Galapagos and yet,  the abundance from below is so much more than snorkelers ever get to see.

Overnight in Aventura Lodge

Day 6
Gordon Rocks Dive (B,L,D)

There is one reason people head to Gordon Rocks and one reason it is a world-renowned site: Lots of Hammerheads up close and really personal. Sure, there are Eagle Rays, Stingrays, Marbled Rays, Mantas, White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Galapagos Sharks, Jacks, Turtles, Heiroglyphic Hawkfish, Flag Cabrillas, Blennies, Wrasse and more, but it’s the hammerheads that make this a highlight.

Dinner will be in the Highlands of Santa Cruz in a beautiful setting where the iconic giant tortoises of the Galapagos roam wild and there are lava caves, hammocks and a roaring fire for you to enjoy before dinner.

Overnight in Aventura Lodge

Day 7
Cousins Rocks & Daphne Minor Dive (B,L,D)

Cousins Rocks is a beautiful dive with walls of black coral pea soup green in color.  Lots of places for macro to hide away as well as pelagics like Eagle Rays, White-Tipped Reef Sharks and even Hammerheads.  It’s the best chance in the east to spot Sea Horses.

Overnight in Aventura Lodge

Day 8
North Seymour & Mosqueras Dive / Charles Darwin Research Station Visit (B,L,D)

North Seymour offers large schools of fish and is a great chance to see some of the more unusual species such as fin-biting saber toothed blenny or the striped juvenile leather bass taking refuge in a sea urchin. See White-Tipped Reef Sharks, Sea Turtles, Eagle Rays and maybe even Hammerheads.  Mosqueras has colonies of Sea Lions that love to swim with divers.  Also, Sea Turtles, schools of fish and possibly Hammerheads and Mantas.
Last ascent must be completed by 1PM in order to have sufficient surface interval before flying.  Afternoon is a guided visit to the world renowned Charles Darwin Research Station.

Overnight in Aventura Lodge
