Day 1 Puno - Copacabana - Sun Island
Pick up from hotel in Puno / Peru and take hydrofoil cruise to visit the floating islands of the Uros. Continue to Copacabana and visit the most important religious shrine in Bolivia. Hydrofoil to Moon Island for a visit to its dazzling `Iñak Uyu´ (Sun Virgins) temple. Cruise to Sun Island, visit the Pilcocaina Sun Temple and enjoy a soft trek to our eco friendly lodge `Posada del Inca´. Barbeque lunch. Meet with the community authorities and share with them the chewing of coca leaves during a bonfire with local music and dances. Candlelight dinner and overnight at Posada del Inca Eco Lodge.
Day 01, Quito
Upon arrival to Quito, you will be met at the airport with bouquets of roses. Assistance and transfer to the selected hotel. Welcome drinks during check-in include exotic fruit juices such as “Maracuya” or Passion fruit. Overnight.
Day 02, Quito
A day to explore Quito. Spend the morning in the downtown area visiting the colonial monuments, mansions and churches with gilt altars and a beautiful blend of styles, lunch will be served at one of the traditional restaurants where there will be ample opportunities to taste the Ecuadorian cuisine. The afternoon brings the opportunity to stand at two hemispheres at the same time while visiting the Middle of World. Evening welcome dinner at one of the colonial convents, in an elegant atmosphere and surrounded by history while classic or folklore music is played
Day 03, The Northern Highlands
A day dedicated to discover the Northern highlands, the land of lakes, majestic sierras and terraced farmland, where an Indian market will be one of the highlights with its color, sounds and handicrafts, a great place to participate in a treasure hunt. The evening will bring to you the flavor of the country: music, dances and Ecuadorian specialties, in an “Andean Fiesta”. Overnight at a Colonial Hacienda.
Day 04, The Northern Highlands and Cuenca
Experience the rural life, as you pass through some of the typical Indian villages, learn about the simplicity of their life as you visit their homes, learn the secrets of making the beautiful handicrafts. Afternoon transfer directly to the airport for your domestic flight that will take you to Cuenca, a Colonial jewel located in the southern highlands. Assistance and transfer from airport to hotel. Evening brief introductory panoramic view of Cuenca and dinner at one of the mansions. Overnight.
Day 05, Cuenca/Quito or Guayaquil
Stroll through history alogn narrow streets bordered by houses with coquettish balconies, visit museums that display centuries of pre-Colombian and colonial treasures, and discover the traces of indigenous religion in colonial catholic churches and convents. Lunch will be a treat where samples of all the southern Ecuadorian cuisine are on display. Afternoon, time to relax, explore Cuenca by yourself or maybe buy souvenirs to take back home. Transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Quito or Guayaquil. |
