The intercultural exchange had given the humanity a new way to travel.  Sharing ways of living and customs represents an extraordinary experience when understanding other cultures and when breaking languages barriers.  The outstanding experience for the visitors and the visited is just small part of an unexpected journey to the most fantastic knowledge of life, sharing your time in a real and different world. 


Detailed Itinerary:


Day 1   
Arrival in Quito (-)

Upon your arrival to the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, you will be received by Condor Travel representatives, who will be ready to assist and take you to your hotel. In the afternoon you will have time at leisure to rest and get used to the altitude.  Quito is located at 2800 meters above sea level.

Day 2   
Quito / Otavalo  (B,L)

For many years, over 300 indigenous women from the Zuleta area in the Northern Region of the Andes work on the decoration of towels, tablecloths, placemats, baskets and hand-embroidered shirts transforming simple fabrics into true works of colorful art.
During the day passengers will learn the art of embroidery in the community workshops.

Visit to Cóndor Park: In tribute to this faithful representative of Andean culture, situated in a strategic point with a spectacular panoramic view of the Imbabura, Cotacachi, Peguche, and Otavalo volcanoes we will find the Condor Park; an organization dedicated to the protection, rescue, rehabilitation and reintroduction of this iconic bird and other birds of prey in the area such as eagles, vultures, owls and hawks.
Condor Park uses falconry techniques to promote rapprochement between birds and visitors to encourage interaction with these mysterious creatures.

Day 3   
Quito / Pujilí / Patate  (B,L,D)

During this one-day guided tour passengers will be taken on the route that shows the color and traditions of the people of the Central Andes. An unforgettable journey through the world of pottery and indigenous religiosity.  This ancient pottery techniques show a clear relationship between land, food, pottery and the same man who reaps the fruits of the earth and then prepares it in clay containers to someday return to the land at his death buried in an earthen pot.

This is certainly a day of magic and discoveries; a meeting of artists and indigenous traditions.

Day  4   
Patate – Guamote  (B,L,D)

Throughout the Andean region, the views are fantastic, they include dramatic mountain scenery, picturesque villages that are noted for their colorful and rich agriculture and handicraft production. These can be experienced in their famously vivid markets, an ancestral tradition maintained to this day.

In the morning, passengers can enjoy shopping in a local market, and acquire the necessary supplies for the coming days.

In the afternoon, arrival to the Lirio San Jose Community in the highlands of Guamote.

Day 5   
Guamote  (B,L,D)

On this day, in the morning - "local cooking classes," the community will share their secrets of seasoning and cooking with passengers until lunchtime, where you can taste and enjoy your new recipe.

In the afternoon we shall participate in a cultural interchange where visitors will take Quechua classes and some English will be taught to the community.

Day 6  
Guamote  (B,L,D)

Learn how to shear sheep, dye wool and weave the Andean style or work with the community on their crops.

Day  7  
Guamote – train – Cuenca  (B,L)

This wonderful tour takes us through picturesque Andean villages, colorful Indian markets and ethnic cultures with their rich and varied display of garments, handicrafts,and festivals, where the music and cuisine blend here with amazing landscapes, rivers, lagoons and steep rocky hills.

The architecture in Alausí, is the first thing that catches our attention, houses, churches, parks and streets with more than 100 years combine with the old train station and gives this town a unique touch of colonial charm.

To accompany this wonderful route, visitors can enjoy the famous "Devil`s Nose," where the train descends a steep cliff of 300 meters based on an ingenious system of zigzag.
After this exciting experience we shall have lunch, to continue the journey to the city of Cuenca.

Day 8  
Cuenca / Saucay   (B,L)

This exciting excursion begins with a visit to the community of Corpanchi; where we are invited to meet the unique world of migrants. Here, we will find invaluable skills and abilities that are left behind to go on search of the American dream.

In the afternoon we shall visit the city; Cuenca, also known as Santa Ana of the 4 rivers, it was created specifically to meet the needs of the Spanish elite at the time of the conquest and today it displays glamorous French neoclassical architecture decorated with colorful balconies, geraniums, squares and colossal churches that highlight the monumental beauty of this colonial city.

Day 9  
Cuenca – Guayaquil  (B)

Early morning, transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Guayaquil. In Guayaquil you will receive assistance in boarding your international flight.
