PERU
Discover Chachapoyas and its many attractions during a trip to the Peruvian high jungle region. This tour mixes history, archeology, sports and nature to live a real-life adventure.
Day 1
We go from Chiclayo to Chachapoyas through the arid desert and the Andes, finally descending to the Utcubamba River valley in the high jungle.
Day 2
We will visit the Karajia sarcophagi, lost in the mountains for over 750 years. In the afternoon, we’ll go to the village of Tingo to spend the night.
Day 3
The tour will take us to the village of Yerbabuena to begin a walk of about 2 hours to the tombs of Revash. Then we’ll continue to Leimebamba, where we’ll visit the museum that houses more than 200 mummies found aside the Lake of the Condors. We’ll then return to Tingo to spend the night.
Day 4
We’ll visit the fortress of Kuelap, whose walls and circular houses project from the cloud forest. After touring the various corners of the archaeological complex, we’ll return to the city of Chachapoyas.
Day 5
We’ll leave early toward the village of Cocachimba, where we begin hiking to the 771-meter-high waterfall of Gocta, among the 5 highest waterfalls in the world. During the hike, we can see the wildlife of this high jungle region.
Day 6
End of the tour and return to the city of Chiclayo.
