Day 1

Arrive to the city of Iquitos and transfer to the port of Nauta to board the Delfín, a ship that we take deep into the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.


Day 2


In the morning, we’ll take a hike to look at birds and giant trees, as well as a lake inhabited by paiche, the largest fish in the Amazon. In the afternoon, we will go deep into the jungle and, depending on our luck, we may see gray and pink dolphins, and even swim with them.


Day 3


Visit to Atun Poza Lake and a true tropical forest where, if the luck is with us, we will see the family of otters that inhabits the lake. In the afternoon, we leave in outboard motor boats to go further into the reserve. We’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the sunset in the jungle; listening to the natural sounds of the jungle at dusk is a delight. We will also find alligators whose eyes reflect the light of our flashlights.


Day 4


In the morning, we visit one of the islands formed in the river during the dry season, where we can appreciate the great number of fish and birds who come in search of food. In the afternoon, we’ll visit the native community of Yanallpa.


Day 5


In the morning, we’ll visit the town of San Miguel, then begin our return to the city of Iquitos. Before arriving at the port, we’ll get your luggage ready and enjoy a final lunch in the jungle.

Sunday

Our adventure begins in Iquitos, the capital of the Peruvian Amazon. After a short tour of the city, we will board the boat that will be our home during the coming days. The guides will introduce us to the wildlife of the jungle.


Monday - Amazon Culture and the Amazon National Park

The peculiar culture of the Amazon has hundreds of years of history and customs that will be able to appreciate through interaction with a local community and participation in a spiritual ceremony conducted by a shaman. In the afternoon, we see the immensity of the jungle from a swinging bridge over 300 meters long that is constructed in the treetops.


Tuesday - Samiria Pacaya National Reserve

This day we will explore the National Reserve, entering it from narrow blackwater tributaries, home to many species of wildlife, including toucans, macaws, capuchin monkeys, iguanas and sloths.


Wednesday

Our adventure comes to an end with our return to the city of Iquitos.

Day 1
After arriving to the city of Iquitos, transfer to the port to take the luxury ship that will penetrate the Peruvian Amazon jungle, via the Yarapa River, a tributary of the Amazon.

Day 2
At dawn, we are already in the waters of the Yanayacu River. We begin the day with an excursion to spot birds. In the afternoon, we take a boat to Corriente Lake to fish for piranhas and other local species. Toward the end of the afternoon, we visit the town of San Juan del Amazonas, where we will appreciate the typical customs of its residents. After dinner, we will again take the boats to try to find the variety of local animals in their nighttime activities.

Day 3
Two options:
a)  A full day exploring Chingana creek, where we may find otters, capuchin monkeys, gray and pink dolphins and a large variety of birds.
b)  Explore some of the projects in the Amazon to appreciate the plantations of palm trees for the extraction of oil, or the nests created to protect the turtle eggs, then continue on with an expedition to spot monkeys and dolphins.

Day 4
Leave in the morning to view the sunrise over the Amazon jungle. Enter the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve at the confluence of the Marañon and Ucayali rivers, the two largest tributaries of the Amazon. Innumerable protected species, many of them endangered, live in the reserve.

Day 5
A dawn excursion is a unique opportunity to view various species in search of food. After breakfast, there is an opportunity to fish in the Tapiche River or enjoy the facilities of the boat.

Day 6
Explore the jungle, in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, observing different species of birds, mammals and reptiles in their natural habitat. At night, after dinner, there is an opportunity to explore the river bank by boat.

Day 7
Visit to the community of Playa Sapo and take advantage of the opportunity to interact with its people. During the day, giant aquatic plants can be seen in the rich waters of small streams and you can also visit Lake Chontilla to see the animals that live there.

Day 8
Sunrise over the Tahuayo River and final hours on the Amazon River before returning to the city of Iquitos.
