Puruchuco is an archaeological complex hidden in the city of Lima, which served as a ceremonial and administrative center during the time of the Incas. Built on top of an ancient pre-Inca cemetery, more than 2,000 mummies in perfect condition were discovered here, thus making it one of the most important pre-Hispanic burial sites on the continent.
