Archeological Tour Of Nazca

Add To Wish ListSee Wish List

On this tour, we pass through the streets of the city to visit the Cantayoc aqueducts and its underground irrigation system built by the Nasca culture. The tour continues to the Inca Administrative Center of Paredones, built of stone and mud, which also served as a residence for the Inca representative of the coastal region. We wind up in the pre-Inca cemetery of Chauchilla, the only one in all of Peru in which the mummies are found in good condition and in their original tombs.

Overflight Of The Nazca Lines

Add To Wish ListSee Wish List

Located on the Jumana plains, in the coastal department of Ica, the impressive Nazca Lines decorate the southern desert. While the lines can be seen from viewpoints atop the 12 meter-high towers constructed for that purpose, there is little doubt that the view is better from the air. The tour begins at the airfield in the town of Nasca, where you take one of the small aircraft that permit viewing the enigmatic figures set in the desert plains on a flight of about half an hour above the lines that the people of Nazca drew on the land over a thousand years ago.
