Detailed Itinerary:


Day 1
Arrival to Lima (-)


Upon arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered. If arrival flight permits, optional dinner at gourmet local restaurant.

Overnight in Lima.


Day 2
Colonial & Contemporary Lima – Larco Museum (B/L/D)


Visit the Colonial and Contemporary areas of Lima, including the Catedral, San Francisco Convent and the Huaca Huallamarca, a pre-Columbian site in the middle of the residential district of San Isidro. Later, we will have lunch in Café del Museo. We will continue with a visit to the Larco Museum, a private collection which overview on 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. Later, our guide and transportation will be at your disposal for shopping at Indian Markets or visit an additional museum. Dinner in La Rosa Nautica, a traditional restaurant in from of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 3
Cusco – Arrival and Free Afternoon for Acclimatization – Dinner at MAP Café (B/D)


Transfer to the airport for a middle morning flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure to rest, get acclimatized to the altitude and explore the city on your own. Oxygenated rooms for passengers staying at the Monasterio Hotel. At the fixed time, we will have dinner at the exclusive MAP Café, gourmet restaurant located at the Pre-Columbian Art Museum.

Day 4
Cusco – City Tour, San Blas & Nearby Ruins (B/L)


We will visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We start our trip visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, built over the Koricancha, and ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Later, we will stop at the Main Square, where you can find the Cathedral and the beautiful Church of La Compañía. Going on with the tour, we will visit the San Blas suburb, the residence of the best artist since the colony. Lunch at Inkanto Restaurant. Later, we will be driven to the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, imposing sample of military Inca architecture which domains the city. Finally, we will take a look at the archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, located north east of the city. Optional: dinner and folklore show.

Day 5
Sacred Valley – Weaving Seminar in Chinchero, Ollantaytambo & Pisac Market (B/L)


Depart for Chinchero, town of Inca origins whose Plaza de Armas has a huge Inca wall with ten large, well-preserved trapezoidal niches. There is also one of the most important Colonial era churches in Cusco. After a weaving seminar with the locals. We will continue on to Ollantaytambo, a charming town of Inca origins with amazing canals and cobblestone streets. At the top there is an impressive ceremonial center for the worship of water and a fortress that protected the entry to the low part of the valley. Stop for lunch in Huayoccari, beautiful hacienda built some 350 years ago by the Orihuela family on the summit of a hill that allows a spectacular view of the valley. It holds a collection of popular art dating from the 17th century, such as colonial paintings, keros, ceramics and porcelain ware. Finally, we will visit the Pisac Market, where we will witness a mixture of color, people and tradition.

Day 6
Machu Picchu by Deluxe Train “Hiram Bingham” (B/BR/TT/D)


You will visit one of the most important energetic centers of the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion will be by done on the Hiram Bingham Train of Orient Express. The train leaves from Cusco in the morning taking a spectacular journey through a changing landscape while guests enjoy breakfast.  After the steep climb out of Cusco, the train descends into the Sacred Valley, passing lush fields and colorful villages in the foothills of the Andes. From there, the journey is highlighted by wonderful vistas of the mountains and the beautiful Urubamba River which runs through the Sacred Valley. On arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes at the foot of Machu Picchu, guests are taken to the ancient citadel. After a guided tour, an Afternoon Tea is offered in the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge followed then by some time you can use to re-enter the ruins and enjoy the unique World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, you will board the Hiram Bingham train that will take you to the Poroy Station. Gourmet dinner on board. We will close the night on the lively bar car enjoying live music and having our favorite drink. Upon our arrival, we will be met by our collaborators at Poroy station and be transferred to the hotel.

Day 7
Cusco/Puno by Train “Orient Express - Andean Explorer” (B/L)


Exclusive journey by train toward the city of Puno, on the shores of Lake Titicaca. We will travel comfortably seated, thanks to the new observatory cars from where we have spectacular views of the landscapes. The smooth ascent is impressive. The first half of the journey is dominated by magnificent Andes, which border the deep valleys. Later, we will enter the Altiplano, where Andean camelids can be seen. Lunch on board. We will make a stop at La Raya Station to have a broader panoramic view from the highest point of the route (4319 meters above sea level). Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to the hotel.

Overnight in Puno.


Day 8
Lake Titicaca: Uros, Taquile and Suasi Island (B/L/D)


Journey through Lake Titicaca to reach Suasi Island. On our way we will visit the famous floating Uros Islands, built with layers of totora, a plant which is a source of livelihood for the natives living on the islands, just like their ancestors did. We will continue toward Taquile Island and see a notable community that keep their customs alive and adorns every moment of our stay showing traditional costumes, craftsmanship made by the residents and the particular sound of Aymara, ancient language that has survived the passage of time. Finally, we will arrive in the private Island of Suasi, owned by Marta Giraldo, where we will have lunch and enjoy a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Day 9
Suasi: Day at Leisure (B/L/D)


Free day to fully enjoy the island. Activities to choose and coordinate locally. We also recommend an optional excursion to Cambria to practice mountain climbing in Apu Mullini. Lunch, dinner and overnight in Suasi.

Day 10
Suasi/Cambria/Juliaca – Departure to Lima (B)

Early departure by boat to the village of Cambria, from where we will start our journey to Juliaca airport, to take the flight back to Lima. Should you have time, we suggest you make an optional visit with lunch included to the forgotten town of Lampa, which is waiting to show its catacombs and a special Colonial church from the 17th century.
