Detailed Itinerary:


Day 1
Arrival to Lima (-)

Upon arrival, reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Our representative will give you a documentation kit with detailed program explanation. Luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered.

Overnight in Lima.


Day 2
Arequipa – City Tour & Santa Catalina Convent (B/L)


At scheduled time departure to the airport to board your flight to Arequipa (2,335 meters or 7,660 feet above sea level) this city is an excellent point to get acclimatized to the altitude gradually. Typical dinner at local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will visit the “White City” including the most popular attractions like the Santa Catalina Convent, a beautiful citadel from the 16th century. After a typical lunch, we will be driven to the surroundings of the "White City" to enjoy the countryside and sunny weather as you travel to Sabandia Mill and the Founders Mansion.

Overnight in Arequipa.


Day 3
Colca Canyon (B/L/D)


You will be picked up from your hotel to start the trip through the town of Yura and the National Reserve of Salinas/Aguada Blanca and Pampa Cañahuas, where you can see many species of birds in their natural habitats, and also South American camels, such as vicuñas and llamas. We will make a stop in Patahuasi to freshen up and enjoy a coca infusion, and later keep going to the town of Chivay. Depending on the schedule, you may have lunch in town or have a picnic enjoying the beautiful scenery from one of the natural viewing spots of the zone. In the afternoon, we highly recommend you to visit La Calera and enjoy an invigorating bath in the hot spring waters or just to spend a delightful afternoon in the hotel. Dinner at the lodge.

Overnight in Chivay or Yanque.


Day 4
Condor Cross (B/L/D)


Very early, we will start the trip to Cruz del Condor (Condor Cross), which will allow us to enjoy a spectacular view of one of the deepest canyons in the world, and with luck, have a chance to take pictures of the biggest and most impressive flying bird in the Andes, the majestic Condor. Depending on the schedule, we could make a stop in the town of Pinchollo, the only pre-Inca town still inhabited, and the Maca town, with its beautiful craft market and colonial church. Later, lunch will be served at Chivay. Afternoon at leisure to explore the area and nearby towns with your private guide and transportation. Dinner at the lodge.

Day 5
Colca Canyon - Puno (B/BL/D)


Departure by road to Puno. If the weather and conditions permit, we will visit the Sillustani Graves, an archaeological site located 34 Km. north of Puno. It has the famous Chullpas, which are funerary towers, circular in base, built from polished stone. Some of them are 12 meters high and where used by the Collas and by the Incas. These ruins overlook Lake Umayo, increasing the beauty of this mystic, wonderful place. Upon arrival, accommodation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 6
Lake Titicaca: Floating Islands of Uros and Taquile (B/L)


Excursion to the Lake Titicaca and as a first starting point, visit the floating islands of the Uros, also called Lake Town. These islands are built using totora reed and are used as home and trade centers for the natives, who use hand-made boats of the same material as their means of transportation. We will go on to Taquile Island, where the community kindly welcomes tourists, keeping their traditions alive, as well as their costumes and colorful typical dresses; these people are very skilled artisans and they show in every piece of work all the techniques developed over centuries. Lunch included.

Day 7
Departure to Cusco – Stops at La Raya, Racchi and Andahuaylillas (B/L)


Departure by road to Cusco. On the way, we will stop at La Raya, highest point on the road between Puno and Cusco, from where we will get excellent photo opportunities. Then, visit to the Racchi Ruins, the Temple of God Wiracocha. Continuing the with the journey, stop in the charming town of Andahuaylillas to visit its beautiful church. Lunch at local restaurant on route.

Day 8
Morning at Leisure – City Tour, Sacsayhuaman & Nearby Ruins (B/L)


In the afternoon we will visit the Santo Domingo Monastery or “Koricancha”, catholic monastery built over an Inca palace dedicated to the worship of the Sun. We continue on to the Plaza de Armas, where the Compañia Church and the recently repaired Cathedral are located. Going on with the tour, we will visit the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, imposing sample of military Inca architecture which domains the city. Finally, we will take a look at the archaeological sites of Qenko, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, located north east of the city. Optional: dinner and folklore show.

Day 9
Sacred Valley: Chinchero, Maras, Moray & Misminay Community  (B/L/D)


Early departure to Chinchero, town of Inca origins whose Plaza de Armas has a huge Inca wall with ten large, well-preserved trapezoidal niches. There is also one of the most important Colonial era churches in Cusco. After a weaving seminar with the locals, we will visit the salt mines of Maras, still used today the same way they were used during Inca times. We will also visit Moray, a concentric circle terraced structure believed to be an agricultural lab, finishing our busy morning with a picnic lunch at Misminay, local community that works closely with Condor Travel, providing all of our porters for the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Condor Travel is developing an interesting social program to empower this Andean community. This relationship is proving how tourism flow can be a powerful source of sustainable development, and passengers can see first-hand how this works.

Day 10
Sacred Valley: Ollantaytambo & Pisac Market (B/L/D)


This morning we will start at Ollantaytambo, attractive town of Inca origin with remarkable channels and stone streets. On its high end rises an impressive ceremonial center, paying cult to water, used as a fortress during the Spanish invasion, guarding the access to the inferior part of the valley. Then we head for Pisac. We will stop on the way to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley, with crops dressing the mountains like carpets. After a hearty lunch, we will arrive to the colorful market of Pisac, where we will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen, or to purchase their hand-made souvenirs. Optional: visit to Pablo Seminario’s Ceramic Workshop.

Day 11
Machu Picchu “The Lost City of the Incas” (B/L)


You will visit one of the most important energetic centers of the world: Machu Picchu. The excursion will be by train and during the trip we will have an amazing view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of Urubamba. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, our representatives will assist you to board the bus which will take you to the citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will transmit us the history around this mysterious and charming place. After the guided tour, free time to explore the zone on your own. Buffet lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge of Orient Express. At the scheduled time, we will go down to the Aguas Calientes town.

Overnight in Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu.


Day 12
Free Day in Aguas Calientes – Optional Second Visit to Machu Picchu (B)


Morning at leisure. Optionally, you can make a second visit to Machu Picchu and have the chance to know hidden places, such as the Intipunku (Gate of the Sun). Those with a sense of adventure can enjoy a hike full of adrenaline to the top of Huayna Picchu (Young Mountain) to visit the Temple of the Moon and enjoy a spectacular view of the city. In the afternoon, you will board the train that will take you back to Cusco. On arrival, our collaborators will be waiting at Poroy Station, from where we will transfer you to the hotel. This will save you around 40 minutes, so you can relax and then enjoy Cusco’s nightlife.

Day 13
Cusco/Puerto Maldonado - Tambopata (B/BL/D)


At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, reception by our representatives and transfer to the river port for your departure by motor canoe to the selected lodge. If it is required, there will be a stop in the way for last-minute shopping of basic utensils. In the afternoon, arrival to the lodge and accommodation. All possible activities will be indicated by our tour guide: nature walks and canoe excursions for birdwatching and ecology.

Day 14
Tambopata (B/L/D)


All possible activities will be indicated by the tour guide: Southeastern Peruvian rainforest is one of the wild, untamed, uninhabited hotspots of the planet. You could also have the opportunity to visit a local community and  appreciate an ethno botanical garden.

Day 15
Tambopata/Puerto Maldonado/Lima – International Departure (B)


Rest until departure time. If you wish, it is possible to coordinate with your tour guide for an optional activity. We highly recommend birdwatching from a natural or artificial viewing spot. At the scheduled time, return by motor canoe to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport to take your flight to Lima where you will connect with your international departure flight.
