PERU
The Regional Museum of Ica teaches us about cultures that developed in the area, through an interesting display of the textiles, funerary bundles, utensils and pottery of the Paracas, Wari, Chincha, Nasca and Inca cultures, in addition to the surgical techniques of cranial trepanation, reflecting the high level of scientific knowledge of Paracas culture. In the museum, we will also find a full-scale design of the Nasca Lines with their actual distribution in the desert plain.
Ica, the capital of the department of the same name, is one of the most dynamic cities of the Peruvian coastal region. On this tour we cover the major streets of ancient and modern Ica, including the Central Plaza. We’ll visit the Regional Museum of Ica, which demonstrates the evolution of the five most representative cultures of the region: Paracas, Nazca, Wari, Chincha and Inca. We’ll also visit a winery to learn the process making of wine and pisco, the national drink named after the city of Pisco. The tour will continue with a visit to the Helena chocolate factory, the most important and recognized in the region, and we end up at the natural oasis of Lake Huacachina.
