PERU
A tour to enjoy the beauty of the Arequipa countryside and to go back into its history for an appreciation of its Inca terraces. In Sabandia, we will find the famous mill built in the year 1622 and the Founder´s Mansion, an ancient Hacienda house that belonged to Garcí Manuel de Carbajal, the founder of the city of Arequipa.
Visit another of the natural wonders of Arequipa, the Colca Canyon, one of the deepest in the world, and the so-called Condor Crossing lookout, from where you can appreciate the majesty of the flight of the condors that inhabit the surrounding area. We will also visit villages along the length of the valley during this canyon tour.
A walking tour through the streets of the city of Arequipa to appreciate its beautiful colonial buildings, the colonial district of San Lázaro and the Santa Teresa Convent Museum, which opened its doors to the public after being closed for 300 years. During the tour, we will find artisans working their famous embossed leather articles in the Barrio del Solar, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Arequipa.
A journey through time that begins in the era of the dinosaurs and ends in the great Andean cultures. Toro Muerto is the largest repository of petroglyphs in America, a vast plain with more than 5,000 petroglyphs by people of the Wari, Collahua and Inca cultures from about 500 to 1300 A.D. In Querullpa, footprints of dinosaurs have been found that have withstood the test of time, as well as caves with rock art. A look at the most ancient history of Arequipa.
Arequipa, also known as the White City, shows us all its charms on a tour where you can walk through the main streets and colonial buildings, including the Santa Catalina Convent – which is a city within the city - or enjoy a spectacular view of the Misti Volcano from the Yanahuara lookout. In addition, archaeological Arequipa opens its doors for a visit to the remnants of the Juanita Mummy, also known as the Lady of Ampato for having been found on the volcano peak with that name. History and nature come together during this unforgettable tour through the city of Arequipa.
