ICA, NASCA LINES & PARACAS 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT |
| |
|
| |
Carefully drawn lines and meticulously detailed geoglyphs of an immensity and an unknown origin placed in one of the most arid regions of the world - Not many mysteries have captivated us like the Nasca Lines. Are they a celestial calendar? Or perhaps an offering to appease the gods? This, one of the mysteries of world architecture, still remains as such. Paracas, land of sun and peaceful beaches, is the largest natural reserve along the Peruvian coast. It is a territory bathed by some of the richest ocean waters on the planet, turned into a wildlife refuge. |

Ica: Overflight of the Nasca Lines Day 1 |
Early departure by bus to Ica (4 hrs. aprox.) Upon arrival, we will be assisted with the check-in and accommodation at the hotel. Then, we will then be taken to the local airport to take a light aircraft and enjoy an overflight over the Nasca Lines. There, you will spot various figures drawn on the sandy soil, representing animals and stylized plants, distributed in a huge labyrinth of lines, trapezes, triangles and hairsprings recorded over the land and preserved for almost 2000 years, according to the specialists. The rest of the day is free to rest enjoying the hotel facilities; make an optional city tour, dune buggy ride or sandboarding. Overnight in Ica. Included meals: none. |

Paracas – Ballestas Islands – Return to Lima Day 2 |
In the morning, transfer to the Paracas Bay, where our two-hour motorboat excursion to the Ballestas Islands will begin. These beautiful islands, located in front of the Paracas National Reserve, are the biggest natural sanctuary in our shores and are home to thousands of migratory birds, which share their habitat with huge groups of sea lions and fur seals. During the excursion, you will find a mysterious design over the hill, called “El Candelabro” (The Chandelier). According to the legend, it was a reference for pirates that indicated the spot where their treasures were hidden. Others say that it was the sign for the independence army to disembark, guided by General Don José de San Martin. At the scheduled time, we will take the bus to Lima. Included meals: breakfast. |
